LIST OF LODGES BY DISTRICT: 1838

At the beginning of 1837 Grand Master Flint appointed District Deputy Grand Masters for Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7, and a Special Agent for District 9. District 3 had no District Deputy appointed, but the district clearly still existed.

Note: This is extremely conjectural, and based in part on the locations of the appointed Deputies.

DISTRICT 1

Henry H. Barton (Boston), District Deputy Grand Master; 10 Lodges

DISTRICT 2

Isaac Collyer (Marblehead), District Deputy Grand Master; 5 Lodges

DISTRICT 3

, District Deputy Grand Master; 7 Lodges
These might be assigned to District 2 or District 4 until 1840, as no District Deputy was appointed

DISTRICT 4

Alfred L. Baury (Newton), District Deputy Grand Master; 6 Lodges

DISTRICT 5

Lemuel Gay (Stoughton), District Deputy Grand Master; 4 Lodges

DISTRICT 6

Gardner Ruggles (Hardwick), District Deputy Grand Master; 7 Lodges

DISTRICT 7
