BIOGRAPHY

Kenneth George Pearson of E. L. Freeman Lodge No. 41, A. F. & A. M. of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was elected and installed the One Hundred and Thirteenth Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations at the One Hundred and Seventy-Seventh Annual Communication held at Freemasons Hall, Providence, Rhode Island on May 19, 1968.

Most Worshipful Brother Pearson was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 12, 1912, the son of George Mathew and Blanche (Bough) Pearson. He is married to the former Mabel Hough of Central Falls, Rhode Island.

In 1917 the Pearson Family moved to Rhode Island and settled in Woonsocket for two years then to Providence where he completed his education in the Providence School System, graduating from Technical High School of Providence.

The Pearson family has long been associated with Masonry. His mother's father was a Past Master of his Lodge in Hull, England. He has three uncles currently members in England, and one uncle currently serving as Chaplain of his Lodge in Manitoba, Canada. Brother Pearson's father was a member of Pathagaros Lodge in Newark, New Jersey. He has a brother Albert, currently a member of Orpheus Lodge in Cranston. Another Brother John, a member in Denver, Colorado.

Most Worshipful Brother Pearson has been employed by Automobile Mutual Insurance Company of America for the past forty years, serving as Purchasing Agent the last Twenty Years.

His Masonic career started when he was raised a Master Mason in 1943 and served his Lodge as Master in 1953. In 1954 he served as Junior Steward of The Grand Lodge, and was appointed a member of the Board of the Masonic Youth Foundation, serving as Chairman of that Committee for Four Years and currently serving as Vice President of the same Corporation.

He was appointed District Deputy Grand Master in 1960 by Past Grand Master Irving L. Tucker and elected Most Worshipful Grand Master in May 1968.

At present he is the Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Virginia, near the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island.

Brother Pearson holds membership in the following Masonic Bodies, Doric Council No. 7, Harmony Chapter No. 15, Calvary Commandery No. 13, Palestine Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S. The four co-ordinated Bodies of Scottish Rite, and is currently serving as Senior Warden of the 18th Degree, Rhode Island Chapter of Rose Croix. A member of Plantations Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Masonic Veterans, Honorary Member of National Sojourners, Grand Cross of Color, International Order of Rainbow for Girls and Honorary Legion of Honor, Order of DeMolay.

He was honored during his term of Office by being awarded an Honorary Life Membership in Corinthian Lodge No. 27.
