Grand Master 2014–2015

Brother Hallstrom was born on December 20, 1970 the son of Wyman P. and Mildred L. Hallstrom Jr. After living for a short time in Central Falls, the family moved to Pawtucket, where our Brother still resides and was educated in the Pawtucket School System and graduated with Honors from Shea High School in 1988, a member of the city’s first Advanced Standing Program.

As a young man, Chip was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Life Scout, before leaving Troop 3 of Pawtucket. At that time, his Masonic career began by joining Pawtucket Chapter, Order of DeMolay. He took on roles as a Preceptor and Jacques DeMolay, and was the Senior Councilor when Pawtucket Chapter was closed. Our Brother was inducted into the DeMolay Legion of Honor in 2013.

Brother Hallstrom was a communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Advent until its closing and served as Chief Acolyte.

Chip entered the workforce in the Circulation Department at The Times Newspaper while in High School, performing various facets of customer retention and delivery until being promoted to District Manager in 1992. It was during this period that Chip met Diane Cayer and in 1992 they were married.

The following years saw employment in other sales and delivery positions at Globe Printing, Astro Automotive, and Cooper-Lewis, until 2005, when Brother Hallstrom joined the team at A. B. Munroe Dairy as a Route Sales Person, also known as a milkman. He has delivered milk to hundreds of homes in the Wakefield area since 2006, and has one of the most successful routes in the Dairy.

Our brother made application to Roger Williams Lodge No. 32 and was initiated in January of 1992 and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason by his father in May of 1992. He accepted an appointment in line and became Worship Master. He served his lodge as Master twice, first in 2000 and then in 2004. In 2000 he oversaw the merger of Temple Lodge No. 18 of Greenville into Roger Williams Lodge No. 32. He continued to serve his lodge as Treasurer for two years and as the Master of Ceremonies for four years. He also holds membership in St. John’s Lodge No. 1 Providence.

In 1998 Most Worship Ronald W. Simpson appointed our brother as Worshipful Grand Master of Ceremonies for the Itinerant District Deputy, his father Wyman P. Hallstrom Jr. He continued to serve as Wor. Grand Master of Ceremonies for the Districts and served with his father as the Right Worshipful Grand Marshal in 2005. In 2006, M. W. Carl B. Willi appointed Chip as District Deputy Grand Master for the Southern Masonic District. He was reappointed and continued to serve all the Masonic Districts and was elected Junior Grand Warden in 2010, Senior Grand Warden in 2011, Deputy Grand Master in 2012 and was elected the 159th Grand Master in November of 2013.

He holds membership in Providence Royal Chapter No.1, Providence Council No.1 and Calvary Commandery No. 13. He is a member of the Ancient and Accept Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence and is a Past Thrice Potent Master of Solomon’s Lodge of Perfection and is presently serving as an officer in the Rhode Island Consistory. Our Brother was coroneted an honorary member of the Supreme Council 33rd degree in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2010. As a Rhode Island Shriner he joined the Motor Corps and served as the units’ treasurer for several years. He is a member of the International Police Square Club and the Swords of Bunker Hill Gaspee Order No. 99. Most Worshipful Past Grand Master and installing officer, Brother Wyman P. Hallstrom III has been elected Grand Master and now presents himself for installation.
