BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research (note that this biography was published prior to Bro. Orlick's death in 1994; he is buried in Bellerive Heritage Gardens in Creve Cour, Missouri:

Herman August Orlick was born on July 13, 1908 in St Louis, Missouri the youngest of six children. Herman was a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. For 12 years he served on the Board and Faculty of the American Institute of Banking. He was Vice-President and Cashier of Mercantile Trust Company in St Louis, working at the bank for over 49 years.

Brother Orlick received his degrees in Anchor Lodge No 443, being raised december 27, 1933 and served as Master in 1939. He served Anchor Lodge for twenty years as Treasurer.

He was appointed Grand Tyler of the Grand Lodge in 1949 by Grand Master Bradford, He was installed into that office by Most Worshipful Brother and President Harry S Truman.

At the 145th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge he was appointed Junior Grand Marshal by Grand Master Russell Murray. He served on the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home and was elected Grand Master in 1974.

Brother Orlick was a member of Cabany Chapter No 140 RAM, Jeremiah Council No 48 R&SM, St Aldemar Commandery No 18, KT, the Scottish Rite Valley of St Louis receiving his KCCH and being coronated a 33rd degree on December 13, 1975, He was a member of Moolah Shrine and St Louis Conclave , Red Cross of Constantine.
