BIOGRAPHY

Most Worshipful Brother, Frank Dias, Jr., was born on September 26, 1965 in Warwick, Rhode Island the son of Frank and Alice (Tarvira) Dias. He was Initiated Entered Apprentice on October 27, 1977, passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on December 19, 1977 and was raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on February 18, 1978.

He was appointed as Sentinel of Ionic Lodge No. 28 on March 18, 1978 by then Worshipful Master Lee F. Hayden. He served as Junior Steward, Senior Steward, Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and finally as Master in 1982. Most Worshipful Brother Dias served our Grand Jurisdiction in the following appointments: he was appointed by Most Worshipful Robert S. Corp in 1984 as an Assistant Grand Lecturer in the Fourth District for two years. In 1986 he was appointed by Most Worshipful Edward V. Hudson as Forum Director. In 1987 he was appointed by Most Worshipful William H. Abbey as Director of Masonic Education and served in that capacity for a year and a half until the untimely death of Right Worshipful Robert Horton. At this time, Most Worshipful Stephen E. Carpenter appointed Brother Dias as District Deputy Grand Master of the Second District. He served as a District Deputy Grand Master in the following Districts: Sixth District in 1989, Fifth District in 1990; Fourth District in 1991; Second District in 1992; First District in 1993. He was elected to the Grand Council as Junior Grand Warden in 1994, Senior Grand Warden in 1995, Deputy Grand Master in 1996, and Most Worshipful Grand Master on May 19, 1997.

Most Worshipful Brother Dias is a member of Ionic Lodge No. 28. He is an honorary member of Morning Star Lodge No. 13, Warwick Lodge No. 16, Franklin Lodge No. 20 and Charity Lodge No. 23. He holds membership in the following organizations: Scottish Rite Valley of Providence; Landmark Chapter No. 10 RAM; Narragansett Council, RSM; St Johns No 1 Commandery Knights Templar; Palestine Shrine, Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; Sword of Bunker Hill; and Ruth Chapter, O. E. S.

Most Worshipful Brother Dias has been employed by Electric Boat Corporation for the last twenty four years, twenty of those have been in various management positions. He is currently a Resource Coordinator Specialist for the Director of Engineering. Most Worshipful Brother Dias was graduated from West Warwick High School. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and his Masters in Management Technology awarded from Johnson and Wales University. He has been a member of the Grand Lodge Masonic Education Committee for the past eleven years and is a firm believer in education.
