BIOGRAPHY

Edward V. Hudson, of Corinthian Lodge No. 27, F. & A. M. Cranston and Friendship Lodge No. 7, F. & A. M. Chepachet was elected and installed the One Hundred and Thirty First Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations at the One Hundred and Ninety Fifth Annual Communication held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, Cranston, Rhode Island.

Most Worshipful Brother Edward V. Hudson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on October 17, 1930. He was educated in schools around Toronto. After High School in 1948, he began serving his apprenticeship to become a Photo Engraver. He pursued this endeavor for six years and became a Journeyman Photo Engraver.

On September 27, 1957 he married Carole Ann Blackman, of London, England. Shortly thereafter they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to continue work at his trade. Two years later they moved back to Toronto for just a short period before taking a position in Louisville, Kentucky.

It was four years later he took up residence in Rhode Island. He began a long employment with Providence Gravure, now operating as Maxwell Graphics Providence, Inc., and where he is still employed. After living in Warwick for a short time, he moved to Chepachet where they reside today on Douglas Hook Road. In 1976, they both became United States Citizens. They have two sons Maxwell John and Russell Edward Hudson.

M. W. Brother Hudson's masonic record began at Corinthian Lodge No. 27 F. & A. M. in Cranston. He received his EA degree on Nov. 27,1967; his FC on Jan. 22,1968; and his MM on April 22,1968. The following October he was appointed Junior Deacon and was installed Worshipful Master on October 27, 1972. He also is an affiliated member of Friendship Lodge No. 7 F. & A. M. in Chepachet.

He was appointed a District Deputy Grand Master to the Seventh District by Most Worshipful Kenneth W. Jencks in May 1976. He served in all seven districts and was elected Junior Grand Warden in 1983, Senior Grand Warden in 1984, Deputy Grand Master in 1985, and Most Worshipful Grand Master in 1986. He was installed by M. W. Kenneth W. Jencks and assisted by R. .W. Neil F. Damon, Past Grand Marshal.

M. W. Brother Hudson holds membership in the four bodies of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence. He is a member of Palestine Temple A. A. O. N. M. S. and a member of the Artisan Unit. He is also a member of the Swords of Bunker Hill.

Most Worshipful Brother Ted is an avid craftsman. Besides his trade as an experienced photo engraver he is an excellent wood worker. His skills have refurbished many antiques and his wood turning produced many beautiful works of art.

Most Worshipful Brother Ted likes the outdoor life and loves boating and fishing.
