BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

Freddie Adams was born on June 28, 1935, in St Joseph, Missouri. He was educated in the St Joseph Public Schools and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1954. He attended St Joseph Junior College, now Missouri Western State University.

During high school and college, he worked at Green Hills Supermarket, he also worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Rainbow Bakery adn KFEQ Television in St Joseph. In 1965, he was recruited by Federated Insurance Company of Owatonna, Minnesota and accepted a position as Marketing Representative, which necessitated a move to Marshall, Missouri. He was a Senior Marketing Representative when he retired in January of 1994 and over 29 years with the company.

Brother Adams was active in the St Joseph Sertoma Club and the Civil Air Patrol, attaining the rank of Captain.

His masonic career started in Marshal, Missouri where he was initiated into Trilumina Lodge NO 205 on June 5, 1972 and raised to the degree of Master Mason on September 25, 1972. Freddie served as Master of the Lodge in 1987. Grand Master Cole appointed him as DDGM of the 24th Masonic District. Grand Master Motter appointed Brother Adams to the advancing line in 1993.Freddie was elected and installed Grand Master in September 2000.

Brother Adams was Chairman of the Grand Lodge Membership Committee, a past member of the Grand Lodge Insurance Committee, Past President of the Board of Directors of the Masonic Foundation for the Prevention of Substance Abuse Among Children, and served as President of the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home.

Freddie belonged to Saline Chapter NO 74 RAM and served as High Priest, Charter member of Ninth Arch Council R&SM, and Past Commander of Missouri Commandery No 36.

He was a member of Ararat Shrine, Kansas City and Moila Shrine, St Joseph/ He received the Crown Jewel of Honor from Ararat Shrine. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Research Society, Tipperary Council No 62 Knight Masons, Allied Masonic Degrees, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Yeoman of York, Royal Order of Scotland, Past President of the Kansas City Chapter National Sojourners and Past Commander Old Glory Camp Hero's of 76.

Freddie and Lauretta are the parents of a son, Don, also a member of Trilumina Lodge and a daughter Sandra, a member of Marshall Chapter NO 408, Order of the Eastern Star.

Most Worshipful Brother Adams passed away April 11, 2016, with Masonic Services following the Celebration of Life Services at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Missouri.
