Ill. William Foster Clark, 33° , was born in Brooklyn, New York, July 16, 1889, and died in Newton, Massachusetts, Janu­ary 24, 1972. He received his education in the public schools of Boston, Hempstead and Long Island, N.Y., and Hinckley, Maine. He sold his automobile agency in 1948 and assumed the duties of Grand Secretary of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Massachu­setts, a position which he held until his retirement in 1966.

He was raised a Master Mason in Charity Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Cam­bridge, February 1, 1915, served as Worshipful Master in 1925 and was a District Deputy Grand Master in 1930-1931.

He was the recipient of the Jeremy L. Cross Medal, Grand Lodge of New Hampshire and the Veteran"s Medal and Henry Price Medal both of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. A member of all the York Rite Bodies, he served as presiding officer of each. He was Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Chapter 1949-1951 and General Grand High Priest of the General Grand Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, International, 1963-1966. Illustrious Brother Clark re­ceived the degrees in the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Boston in October, 1948, and was created a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33°, Honorary Member of the Supreme Council on Sep­tember 25, 1963.
