Brother Woodard was born at White, Brookings County, South Dakota, on January 5, 1912. He is a graduate of White High School and a one-year pre-engineering course at Army Ordinance during World War II.

He has been a farmer, a restaurant operator, and the owner of a highway construction company. At present he is the postmaster, as well as business manager of the public schools of White. '

On July 4, 1954, he married Miss Christine Sue Yeoman of Fredonia, Kansas. They have three sons, Robert, Ronald, and Richard. He is a member of the Methodist Church.

He became a Mason in Washington Lodge No. 111, White, South Dakota, on May 2, 1955. He is a past master of the South Dakota Lodge of Masonic Research. He is active in the York Rite, holding memberships in Brookings Chapter No. 18, Brookings Commandery No. 14, and Watertown Council No. 4. He is a member of the El Riad Shrine Temple, Sioux Falls and has been active in White Star Chapter No. 16, Order of the Eastern Star of White.

In the regular course of events, Brother Woodard will be elected Grand Master of Masons of South Dakota at the 100th Annual Communication in June, 1974. He will then preside over the centennial activities that have been planned for the year 1974-1975.

Going to press as we are by June, 1974, will exclude a detailed report of the happenings of the Grand Lodge for the year. All the members of the Grand Lodge of South Dakota look forward to an exciting and eventful centennial year under the able direction of Grand Master Woodard.
