BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

James A. Noland was born on February 2, 1927 in Mack's Creek, Missouri and was educated in Camden County and Dallas County Public Schools. He attended Southwest Missouri State College, Lincoln and Missouri Universities where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, a Master's and Doctor Degree in City School Administration.

Doctor Nolan served his country by entering the military during World War II, receiving is basic training at Camp Joseph T Robinson. He reinlisted in the United States Air Force at Westover Field, Massachusetts, and served ten months in the Philippine Islands with the 13th Air Force.

From 1947-1956 he was a college student being employed in the Camdenton R-III Schools and a teacher and principal. He was also a Professor of Psychology at Central Methodist College, Fayette, Missouri.

Brother Nolan is a Past Master of Mack's Creek Lodge No 443. the York and Scottish Rites, Abou Ben Adem Shrine, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Eastern Star and the American Legion.

Doctor Nolan has extensive experience in government and administrative work. He served one term as County Collector of Camden County, then elected to the House of Representatives in 1956 and re-elected in 1962, 1964 and 1966, elected to the Senate in 1968 and 1972.
