BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

John Nations was born in St Louis, Missouri, the son of Grand Master Gus O. Nations and the brother of Grand Master Jeffery O. Nations. He attended Webster Groves Public Schools, received a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri and a Law Degree from Saint Louis University. He practiced law in the St Louis area after graduation.

His Masonic affiliation began in April of 1981 when he was initiated in Purity Lodge No 658 in St Louis being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in that Lodge. He served as Master of the Lodge in 1988. In 1992, Purity Lodge merged with Webster Groves Lodge No 84 where he served as Treasurer.

John is a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of St Louis receiving his 32nd degree in March of 1982, serving as Master of the Consistory in 1992. He was awarded the 32nd degree Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in 1991 and was coronated a 33rd degree Mason in 1999.

Brother Nations served on the Board of Directors of the Scottish Rite Foundation, is a member of Moolah Shrine and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home of Missouri.

In 1996 he was appointed by Grand Master Scott to serve as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. In 1997 he was appointed Senior Grand Marshal by Grand Master Jeffery O. Nations and was installed Grand Master in 2005.

John is married to former Bridget M. Harvey and have four children, John, James, Elizabeth and Katie.

Currently John is President and Chief Executive Office of the Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois District.
