BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

Harry Francis Sunderland was born in Sterling, Nebraska on May 7, 1897. On February 1, 1924 he married Eula Mae Alexander of Liberty, Missouri and after their marriage they resided in Kansas City.

He attended the public schools of Ottawa, Kansas and Lincoln, Nebraska. He spend two years at the Nebraska School of Agriculture and also attended Lincoln Business School/

Brother Sunderland was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Rural Lodge No 316 in Kansas City, Missouri on May 20, 1922 and was Master of the Lodge in 1931. He belonged to Eastgate Chapter No 34, Royal Arch Masons, Westport Council No 36 Royal and Select Masters and was a Charter member of Kilwinning Council No 19 Allied Masonic Degrees and served as Sovereign. He was also a member of Ye Ancient Order of Corks, , Masonic Order of the Bath, Grand College of Rites, St Patrick's in America Council No 26, Knight Masons of Ireland, Honorary member of the Legion of Honor, Demolay and the Grotto.

Harry Sunderland was appointed Grand Pursuivant by Grand Master Vetsburg and advanced to the office of Grand Master in 1948.

In his Masonic career he conducted more than one hundred Masonic funerals and acted as Master at numerous installations of officers.

Brother Sunderland passed away January 31, 1966. There is no mention of any Masonic Funeral of place of burial.
