NOTES

According to Moore's Freemason's Monthly, Vol. III, No. 5, March, 1844, Page 162:

On the 13th April following (April 1759), the R.W. Abraham Savage was authorized 'to congregate all Free and Accepted Masons in the expedition against Canada, at Lake George or elsewhere, into one or more Lodges, as he shall think fit, and appoint proper officers, etc.'"

To all and every Our Right Worshipfull and Loving Brethren, We Jeremy Gridley Esqr. Grand Master of the Ancient & Honorable Society of Free & Accepted Masons of all such places in North America where no other Grand Master is appointed

SEND GREETING

KNOW YE that We By Virtue of the Authority Committed to us By the Right Honorable & Right Worshipfull James Brydges, Marquis of Carnarvan Grand Master of Masons, do hereby nominate appoint & authorize Our Right Worshipfull and well beloved Brother Abraham Savage to Congregate all Free and Accepted Masons in the Present Expedition intended against Canada at Lake George or else where in our district into one or more Lodges as he shall think fitt, and to appoint Wardens and all other Officers to a Lodge appertaining, and we do hereby give to Such Lodge and Lodges all the Priviledges and authority of Stated Lodges, and enjoin them to Conform themselves to the Constitutions and ancient Customs of Masonry and to transmit the Names of all Persons that shall be made masons in any of them, and Four dollars for every one so made to our Grand Secretary at Boston for the use and Relief of indigent Brothers.
