BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

J. Edward Blinn was born in Kansas City, December 13, 1918. He was reared and educated in Kansas City and received his Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1941. He interned at Ozark Osteopathic Hospital in Springfield in 1942 and entered general practice in Fordland, Missouri. In 1944, Dr. Blinn entered the United States Naval Reserve and served two years. Following this, he began his practice in Marshfield and continued to practice there until his retirement.

In 1943, he married LeEtta Climer of Springfield. They had two daughters and six granddaughters.

Dr. Blinn served as the coroner of Webster County for several years and was Public Health of Webster County while serving on the staff of the Webster County Rest Home.

Brother Blinn was initiated, passed and raised in Mt Olive Lodge No 439 in 1944 and served as Master in 1953. In 1957, he joined Vincel Chapter No 110 RAM, Zabud Council No 25 R&SM, St John's Commandery No 20 KT, and Abou Ben Adem Shrine. He served as Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Missouri in 1994.

He affiliated with Webster Lodge No 98 in Marshfield and served as Master in 1966. He joined the ScottiRite, Valley of Joplin, receiving the KCCH and being coronated a 33rd degree member, November 27, 1987. Dr. Blinn was appointed to the Grand Lodge line in 1972 by Grand Master Hugh McLaughlin and elected Grand Master in 1980.

Grand Master Blinn passed away June 17, 2006 with grave side Masonic Services at Marshfield Cemetery conducted by Grand Lecturer Randall Jones. Date
