BIOGRAPHY

Glenn E Means was born in Windsor, Missouri in 1941. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1959 and then attended the University of Missouri-Columbia graduating in 1963. He was commissioned an officer in the Adjutants General Corps U.S. Army and served in Germany and other posts and at the Secretary of the Army's office. After residing his commission in 1968 with the rank of Captain he returned to Kansas City and began his career with the Federal Government. He retired in 1995.

Brother Means married Mary Jane and have three children, Elizabeth, Anne and Stephen.

Glenn began his Masonic career in Raytown Lodge No 391, having been raised to the degree of Master Mason on April 14, 1970. Later he affiliated with Blue Springs Lodge No 337 and served as Chaplin. He served as Secretary of the Lodge form 1971 to 1978 and in 1983 was elected Master. He began serving as Treasurer of the Lodge in 1984 and continued in that office until he moved to Texas in 2014.

He served as DDGM of the 59th Masonic District in 1988 and in 1990 he was elected to a four year term as a Director of the Masonic Home. He was appointed Senior Grand Marshal by Grand Master Gordon Hopkins and was elected and installed Grand Master in 2001.

Brother Means is a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Kansas City, the York Rite Bodies of Independence, the Harry S Truman York Rite College, Mary Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Ararat Shrine, Kansas City Chapter No 63, National Sojourners and the Old Glory Camp Heros of 76.

Since 2003, MWB Means has served as secretary of the Conference of Grand Masters of North America.

In 2014, Glenn and his wife Mary Jane moved to Texas to be close to their grandchildren. Glenn still remains active on the Grand Lodge of Missouri committee for Recognition of Foreign Grand Lodges.
