BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

Brother David Wilson was born at Gettysburg Pa., September 26, 1853. Wilson's father was a Presbyterian minister who resided at times in Potosi, Jefferson City, Ironton, St Charles and finally Milan. Wilson was educated in the public schools and in 1875 received the degree of A.B.. followed by the degree of A.M. in 1878. He was admitted to the bar in 1881 and engaged in the practice of law. He became county school administrator in 1883 and served as prosecuting attorney in 1884, 1886 and 1888.

Seaman Lodge No 126, Milan, Mo., conferred the degrees of Freemasonry in the year 1876. Early the following year he affiliated with Good Samaritan Lodge in Gettysburg Pa., serving as Master. Later he returned to Milan and reaffiliated in 1887 with Seaman Lodge where he served as Master in 1887. He was appointed Grand Pursuivant in 1893 and in 1901 was appointed Grand Junior Deacon. He was elected Grand Master in 1906.

He was a member of the York Rite.

HIs great service to Freemasonry was as a member of the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home. He was elected in 1908 and served continuously until the time of his death

Brother Wilson died in St Louis in the Masonic Home of Missouri of which he had been a director for many years. He was in St Louis attending the annual communication of the Grand Lodge and on the evening previous to his death appeared to be in his usual health. His death occurred October 27, 1926.
