BIOGRAPHY

David William Haywood was born in 1951 and raised in Webster Groves, Missouri, where he attended school, graduating in 1969. David was in Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts and Troop No 306 at Lockwood School where he attained his Eagle Scout in 1965.

He attended Meramec Community College and the University of Missouri at St Louis. From UMSL, David received a BA in Biology and a BS in Chemistry. He currently works as a microbiologist for Sensient Colors.

Brother Haywood's Masonic career when he followed both his father and his maternal uncle into the Order of DeMolay by joining Rabboni Chapter in 164 and served as Master Councilor of Webster Groves Chapter in 1968. David served as Chapter Advisor for DeMolay for several years.

David was initiated in Webster Groves Lodge No 84 on October 30, 1973, passed on February 26, 1974 and raised on March 30, 1973. He served as Master in 1986.

Brother Haywood has served the Grand Lodge on the Public Relations Committee, the Masonic Youth Committee and the Grand Master's Breakfast Committee. He was appointed DDGM by Grand Master Soutiea, Jr. and was appointed Grand Pursuivant by Grand Master John M. Nations.

David was appointed to the advancing line by Grand Master Austin, making him part of the Truman Line. Brother Haywood was elected and installed Grand Master in September 2014.

David belongs to the York Rite and the Scottish Rite, Valley of St Louis receiving his 33rd degree.
