BIOGRAPHY

From Missouri Lodge of Research:

Charles Scheurich was born January 10, 1922 at Joplin, Missouri and attended public schools in Joplin graduating from Joplin High School in 1939. He attended Joplin Business School in 1940-1941 and was also enrolled in the Continuing Education Programs of the University of Missouri and the University of Illinois.

Brothe Scheurich entered the U.S. Army in November of 1942 serving with the Engineering Division, 15th Army Headquarters and with the G-2 Section, Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces. While in service, he also attended the Army Administration Schools at Camp Walters, Texas.

He began his Masonic career in Fellowship Lodge No 345, Joplin, Missouri. He was initiated on February 2, 1961, passed on March 29, 1961 and raised on June 15, 1961. He demitted his membership on October 27, 1967 to affiliate with Acacia Lodge No 602, Columbia, Missouri and served as Master in 1970. Later he re-affiliated with Fellowship Lodge as a multiple member

He served as DDGL of the 26th Disticts under Grand Lecturers Freelon Hadley and Stanton T. Brown. In 1972 he was appointed to the advancing line by Grand Master Noland and was elected Grand Master in 1985. He was installed Grand Master October 1, 1985.

Grand Master Scheurich was a charter member of the Scottish Rite,Valley of Columbia and was Wise Master in 1972 and invested KCCH in 1983. He belonged to Columbia Chapter No 17 RAM, Centralia Council No 34 R&SM, and St Graal Commandery No 12, KT. He was a member of Abou Ben Adem Shrine in Springfield and was made a Prophet at Sight of Aleppo Grotto at Columbia by Grand Monarch Arthur Johnson.

He was a member of the Red Cross of Constantine, The Order of the Eastern Star, Missouri Lodge of Research , Royal Order of Scotland, DeMolay Legion of Honor and Grand Cross from the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Brother Scheurich died on September 7, 1994 at the Lake of the Ozark's Central Hospital in Lake Ozark Missouri with Masonic Services being conducted at the Memorial Funeral Home of Columbia on September 11, 1994 conducted by Past Grand Master Frank Ames Arnold.
