BIOGRAPHY

Ralph Di Scuillo, better known as Joe, of St John's Lodge No. 1, of Providence, Rhode Island on May 16, 1994 was elected and installed the One Hundred Thirty-Ninth Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations at the Two Hundred and Third Annual Communication held at Freemasons’ Hall, East Providence, Rhode Island.

Most Worshipful Brother Di Scuillo was born in Providence, Rhode Island on January 23, 1946, the son of the late William and Jennie (Ravo) Di Scuillo. He was the youngest of seven children and received his education in the Providence School System. In July 1963 he entered the United States Marine Corp serving in many places for four years including two tours in Vietnam. He advanced to the rank E-5 Sergeant in the Combat Engineers Division.

July 1967 brought him back to Providence where he entered the construction field working with Kenneth Fawthrop in Kenric Building Co. To broaden his knowledge in construction, he later went to work as draftsman for Frederick Rigney, an Architect in Pawtucket. While working he continued his education at night attending Roger Williams College. In June 1971 he received his Associates Degree in Technical Engineering. After graduation he decided to put all of his knowledge and experience to work for himself. He formed his own construction company which he successfully operates today. Some of his more famous projects include, Housing for the elderly in Foster, Toys R Us, Newport Overlook Condominiums, and numerous others. But, his greatest satisfaction and pride comes from designing and building custom homes for people throughout Rhode Island.

Twenty Five years ago, on August 9, 1969 he married the former Louise Fawthrop of Providence, Rhode Island. Their marriage has been blessed by three children, Michael, 23, Melissa, 15, and Christina, 13. The designed and built their home in North Kingstown in 1978. He has held membership in Rhode Island Builders Association, North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, and the North Kingstown Soccer Association.

Most Worshipful Brother Di Sciuillo’s Masonic record began April 21, 1976 when he was Initiated as Entered Apprentice, Passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on June 16, 1976 and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on October 20 1976 in St. John's Lodge No.1 Providence.

He served as Master of St John's Lodge No. 1 from 1981 to 1982. He is also a member of Adelphoi Lodge No. 33 and an Honorary Member of Warwick Lodge No. 16. He holds membership in Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence; Providence Royal Arch Chapter Number One; Providence Council Royal and Select Masters; St Johns Commandery No. 1; Knights Templar, Palestine Temple; AAONMS; Sword of Bunker Hill.

Most Worshipful Brother Di Scuillo was appointed a District Deputy Grand Master to the Seventh District by Most Worshipful Edward V. Hudson in 1986 and has served the First, Second, Fourth, Sixth and Seventh Districts. He was elected Junior Grand Warden in 1991, Senior Grand Warden in 1992, and Deputy Grand Master in 1993.
