Most Worshipful Brother William K. Dunscomb is recorded in the annals of the Grand Lodge as present at the session of 1864; a representative of Jefferson Lodge No. 43, at Jefferson City, Missouri. At the Annual Communication in May, 1866, he was elected Deputy Grand Master, holding the office until the Annual Session of 1867, which had been changed to October, when he was chosen Most Worshipful Grand Master. Dr. Vincil, who was his predecessor as Grand Master, was chosen as his successor.

It is learned from old residents that Brother Dunscomb's reason became dethroned and in 1870 he was taken to the asylum at Fulton, Missouri. His death followed a few years later.
