CALENDAR
OVERVIEW
The Mouse Territories use a calendar that is based on the moon; the solar year consists of twelve or thirteen lunar months, depending on the alignment of the lunar and solar cycles, and begins on the day of the winter solstice. A lunar month, for simplicity's sake, is rounded to 29.5 days, and each month begins with the full moon. Each month is divided into five five-day weeks; there is one intercalary day after weeks one, two, three and four; on alternate months there is an additional day following week five.
In 1153, the first full moon occurs on the third day of the first month; that is, two days after the solstice.
